Pearl Jam Confirmed for Spain's Bilbao BBK Live Festival PDF Print E-mail

Pearl Jam are confirmed headliners for Spain’s Bilbao BKK Live festival which is held on Spain’s north coast in July.  The band were formed in Seattle back in 1990 and with the release of their studio album Ten they went massive in the grunge movement of the early 90s with other bands such as Nirvana.  Their ninth studio album Backspacer was released back in September 09 and managed to gain a number position in the US chart.

Bilbo BBK Live festival has proven to be a huge success with national and international festival goers who have voted for the 2009 edition to be one of the finalists of the European Festival Awards in the category of ‘Best Medium Festival’.
Bilbao BBK Live has a 40,000 capacity and two main stages.

Last year the festival saw bands such as Depeche Mode, Jane’s Addiction, RHCP and Primal Scream perform.

Dizzee to play Glastonbury Festival? PDF Print E-mail

In an interview with Lauren Laverne on 6 Music today organiser of Glastonbury Festival Emily Evis hinted that Dizzee Rascal could play the festival again.  The British born rapper released his fourth studio album in September '09 and with the two number one singles ‘Dance Wiv Me’ and ‘Holiday’ he’s a massive crowd pleaser and he is sure to be well received at Glastonbury 2010.

Also in the interview Emily said “A lot of bands really want to play but because we've only got three nights to headline, I think a lot of people are going to be doing secret sets. There will be a lot of surprises, more than we've ever had."

Tickets for Glastonbury’s 40th anniversary are currently sold out although more will be released at some point this year....watch this space!

Depeche Mode front man Dave Gahan is to resume touring after having a malignant tumour removed. 'Tour of The Universe' will resume on the 8th June and this interruption will not affect the date set to headline the Bilbao BBK Live festival (9th-11th July) in Spain.

The band temporarily cancelled their tour earlier this month after Gahan was diagnosed with severe gastroenteritis. Further tests revealed a malignant tumour in his bladder. The tumour has been successfully removed, but the singer has been ordered to rest for a couple of weeks.

A statement from the band reads: "Dave Gahan thanks fans for their support, understanding and patience. Depeche Mode deeply regret any problems or inconveniences the cancellations and postponements may have caused."
See the band's official website, Depechemode.com, for more details of the cancellations and re-schedules.

Bilbao BBK Live festival continues its £40 three day pass promotion (incl. camping). Headliners Depeche Mode (9th July) will be joined by Jane’s Addiction, Primal Scream, Kaiser Chiefs, Babyshambles, The Ting Tings, Placebo, Editors, Basement Jaxx, Gaslight Anthem, Supergrass, Dave Matthews Band, Motor and Fischerspooner.

The line up is not closed yet so expect more exciting acts to be announced soon!
